This event is no longer available.

Come and join Jill for a steady and socially distanced stroll around Pugneys Lake, with views of the ruins of Sandal Castle. We will start in the car park and take a circular route.

We'll stop afterwards at the cafe for a drink.

Do not attend if you have virus symptoms.

We must all observe the social distancing regulations. Please do not book unless you are prepared to keep a two metre distance from other walkers. We are not requiring members to wear face coverings, but you are welcome to do so if that makes you feel more comfortable. We advise that you bring gloves and hand sanitiser. Do not share food or drink or equipment such as walking poles with other walkers outside your household or bubble.

We've been out walking again and even managed an outdoor meal after our walks on Saturday and Sunday. The photo shows us in our pod at Holmfield Arms in Wakefield after exploring the park. Look out for more walks and outdoor meals on our event list

What a lovely day we had on Saturday in the spring sunshine as we walked around the three reservoirs near the village of Ingbirchworth near Penistone. The photo above shows us after climbing high above and looking down on Royd Moor and Scout Dike reservoirs. Perhaps even more excitingly we got a table in the marquee in the pub garden carpark afterwards!

We're gradually increasing the event programme as more becomes possible. Yesterday evening was our first evening walk of the year as we explored the canal and some of the woodland around Mirfield. On Saturday we have another stroll around Wakefield's parks, with our first outdoor meal of the year at the end, and although it's nearly full, there are just a couple of places still available as I write this. I was also surprised but happy-surprised to find an Indian restaurant with an outside area, so we have an outdoor curry club in Bradford next week!

The European Super League may have collapsed before it even started, but we're starting to get some sport in the Spice programme! This evening we have tennis in Sheffield, and if it's a success, we will look to book more dates. We have a tennis session in Rothwell next month too. We've also booked a round of golf in Leeds. Our usual badminton and ten-pin bowling sessions will have to wait a little longer, but we will bring them back as soon as we can.
