Denstone and Combridge moderate walk
Overview
This is only for those on the Spice National weekend at Denstone.
Blow away the hangover with our walk on Sunday morning in the Staffordshire countryside. We'll walk south from the college and out across fields towards the former Woodseat Hall. We'll cross the new (nearly ready to open) JCB golf course to the hamlet of Combridge. We'll then head back north along the roadside for a short time and join the Churnet Way passing the JCB World Headquarters and its lake. Finally we'll head back into the village of Denstone to The Tavern.
If you want to join us for lunch here then please also book Sunday Lunch at The Tavern in Denstone. Otherwise you could stop for a drink or make your way back to the college, which is only around half a mile further along the road.
Location & Itinerary
This is only for those on the Spice National Weekend at Denstone College.
The round trip is about five miles of walking and the route is very level - no hills!
There are several styles to cross and parts of the route are on overgrown rough paths.
We will cross several fields that are likely to contain cattle so it's probably not for the bovinophobic unless you feel ready to face your fears!
Meet outside the main entrance to The Lodge ready to walk at 11am.
We have permission to leave cars in the car park at the college.
