The village of Crianlarich is located in Glen Strathfillan to the north of the Trossachs, some eight miles north of the head of Loch Lomond.
This small historic village is an important staging post on various transport routes linking central and northwestern Scotland but today is a secluded village easily accessible to all. The main A82 road is joined briefly by the A85 Perth-Oban road at Crianlarich while the West Highland railway divides here with one branch heading due west towards Oban, the other continuing north over Rannoch Moor to Fort William.

Location & Itinerary
The area offers us wonderful walking opportunities and for the Saturday a real treat is on offer. We will be getting the train from outside the hotel to Corrour (The UK's most remote train station and we will walk one of Scotland's great walks - Corrour to Rannoch Station - this walk navigates the remote Rannoch Moor and at 11 miles in length a great day out.
The West Highland Way long-distance footpath also passes through Crianlarich and we will walk a section of this on the Sunday - Inverarnan to Crianlarich - around 7 miles.
If not walking the local area gives us the chance to explore northern Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and beyond.
