The Bunkroom in Chester is a small independent hostel located only 2 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes walk from Chester city centre.

Beautifully presented in a 120 year old Georgian town house with a mix of old world charm and modern facilities, The Bunkroom hostel sleeps a total of 20 in large spacious rooms of 2, 3 or 4 sharing.

These weekends are super sociable and have a great following; everyone is expected to help with preparing the meals and cleaning up afterwards but this is all part of the fun, helping you to feel part of the group.

This is a hostel style weekend so you will be sharing a same sex dormitory or there are a couple of double rooms for couples. If you are concerned about not being able to sleep in a shared room we would recommend you bring earplugs and remember, it is just for 2 nights!

We get lots of requests for lower bunks where bunk beds are in place - we will always do our best to oblige especially in the event of medical reasons however we cannot guarantee it unfortunately.

A city full of historic treasures awaits you being home to the most complete City Walls in Britain dating from the Roman occupation 2,000 years ago built to protect the city. Today you can take the 2 mile walk of the walls and admire the beautiful heritage of Chester.

The unique 700 year old Rows are home to both independent and high street names taking shopping therapy a whole new level.

The city is home to the oldest still in use racecourse in the country - The Roodee - once the site of a massive Roman harbour however we have specifically chosen to go along on a non race weekend as the town is just too busy when the races are on!

The Roman Amphitheatre where 7,000 spectactors once enjoyed circuses, festivals and gladiator fights has been brought to life and the 1,000 year old Chester Cathedral is free to enter and hosts regular musical events and exhibitions. You can even scale the Cathedral at Heights Tour and go behind the scenes.

The Eastgate Clock - one of the most photographed in the world - built to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 and restored in summer 2015 stands proudly in the Chester city centre.

Chester’s magical mix of heritage, shopping and restaurants make the city the perfect place to visit around the clock.

There is a wealth of things to see and do in this extraordinary city with Chester Zoo, the perfect day out for animal lovers and garden fans, a host of museums, a 1000 year old cathedral, sensational shopping, guided walks and tours and more to enjoy.

We can even kick back and relax whilst cruising down the river with a variety of boat tours and trips available or take to an open top bus to see the city sights!

The Bunkroom is situated in the vibrant area of Brook Street, 2 minutes’ walk from the train station and 5 minutes’ walk from the city centre. Surrounded by cafes, pubs and shops, this really is the perfect location from which to explore the city and general area.

By car, please put in your post code for directions to The Bunkroom to drop off your luggage. The NCP Car Park is a CCTV covered car park 200 meters away at the side of the train station. This car park costs £8 for 24 hours.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative The Hoole Road/Black Diamond Street Car Park has good ratings at a cost of £4.50 per day or £7 for 2 days

By train, simply walk out of the train station, turn right and follow the road around to the left for 400 meters and you will see The Bunkroom on the left.
