Overview

Event going ahead: Please be assured that this event can go ahead as from the 29th March we can have groups on outdoor activities.

Walk on two days: As the maximum allowed for each walk is 6, Trevor

has kindly agreed to lead this walk on both the Saturday and the Sunday. If one

if full try the other day.

This undulating 9 mile walk starts at the highest point and passes through 3 pretty villages, as good as anything you would find in the Cotswolds, the route is varied but the going is good underfoot with no steep ascents.

We will stop for lunch at the Kitchen Eaterie in Farnborough and then also at the Yew Tree Inn in Avon Dassett for exceptional homemade delights in this beautiful inn that is run as a cooperative by the village members.

A gentle climb will then return us to the start point where we will be rewarded with stunning views at all points of the compass.

As a rough guide, this should take us about 5 hours in all.

Host & Everything Else

COVID “Rule of six” We have just confirmed (with the gov.uk and Sport England websites), that as this is an outdoor physical activity, and as we are an organisation, we are allowed larger numbers on these activities. However, to be a responsible organisation, and to ensure our members are comfortable with group sizes, we are restricting numbers to a lower level than usual.

On this particular walk we are still keeping the maximum numbers to 6.

We are still required to maintain social distance on walks, and it goes without saying that if you have any coronavirus symptoms (see below) please don’t come on the event but let the leader / host know.

Symptoms are: A high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

If you have any such symptoms, please see this link to the Coronavirus information on the NHS website.

Loved the walk and the company. Trevor is great, good communicator. I will be booking on Trevor's walk again. I really enjoy the walks.

Trevor is a great walk leader - competent, friendly, and works hard to keep the group together. The walks are always well prepared (map handouts are a nice touch - especially useful if we feel like repeating the walk). Spice walks are good value for money. This length and pace of walk are right up my street, although Rob is to be commended for his excellent Sunday lunch venues !

This was a lovely walk, with a good mix of friendly Spice members. As always, Trevor was a very capable and knowledgeable walk leader.  The planned cafe and pub stops added to the day, as did the walk itself, which had a little extra pace and distance, compared to some of the other Spice walks. All in all an enjoyable day.
