Overview

Walk summary: This is a great walk, with much variation, including quiet roads, woodland tracks, paths over fields and some terrific open views.

There is not much climbing, but the going can be muddy after rain.

It shows off the Severn Valley well and we will make the return journey to Bridgnorth on the Steam railway, boarding at Hampton Loade, where there is a small café and toilets.

The trains usually also have a café on board.

On returning to Bridgnorth, we will retire to the Railwayman Inn on the station platform.

The whole event should last about 5 hours.

Host & Everything Else

Note: There are toilet facilities at the start in the station and at the end station. Dogs are not welcome due to some areas with horses, walking poles will help those with dodgy knees when descending. Good hiking footwear is essential for this walk as it can be muddy.  Waterproofs will be needed if rain looks likely.

There is plenty to see in Bridgnorth High Town, which is short walk from the station, for those that wish to extend their day.
