Overview
Overview: This year’s Christmas Markets weekend with Steve Dell and Arlene is in Birmingham.
Birmingham, our second city has many attractions and cultural opportunities which we will include in to a programme of coordinated activities.
We will canvas opinion nearer the time as to what attractions we will include in the programme. These could include; a tour of Cadbury World (considered the home of chocolate), the Sea Life Centre, Edgbaston cricket Ground tour, Back to Backs (National Trust historical houses), Think Tank Science museum, the Jewellery Quarter and Birmingham is of course renowned for its wonderful Frankfurt Christmas Markets.
The weekend is designed to be flexible and on both days there will be a number of co-ordinated activities. You can do some or all of these activities, dipping in and out as you please.
The package includes a Christmas Party at the hotel on the Saturday Evening where we join the Spice West Midlands members at their Christmas Dinner Dance so it will be a great crowd.
There is or course great shopping options much as the new(ish) Bull Ring as well as many smaller independent shops and outlets.
The weekend starts…
Friday: If you can arrive earlier we can fit in an extra attraction and have lunch.
Friday evening: We will have a wonder into the Gas Street Basin area which is part of Birmingham’s waterside. Here there are lots of lovely restaurants and bars where we can have our dinner and the discover some of Birmingham’s nightlife.
Saturday: There will be a number of coordinated activities.
Saturday Evening: Tonight we join Spice West Midlands members at their Christmas Dinner Dance at the hotel with a party until 1am which includes a three course meal and disco.
Sunday: There will be a number of coordinated activities.
Accommodation: We stay at the lovely 4* Park Regis hotel near the City Centre. It’s a short walk from Five Ways station (one stop from New Street) or a short taxi ride from New Street station. There is also a car park almost next door which has reasonable rates (for a city centre!).
The single supplements are a bit higher than usual as they are double rooms for sole occupancy.
Includes
2 night’s bed and Breakfast at a 4* hotel, the Christmas Dinner Dance on the Saturday night and coordinated activities throughout the weekend.
Extras
Evening meal on Friday, travel, lunches and any chargeable attractions.

Host & Everything Else
A brilliant weekend. Everything well organised. Particularly liked the hotel. Would definitely do it again in future years.
I enjoyed the whole weekend and found the hotel to be an excellent choice. My room was quiet and clean and the hotel staff were really helpful. The party was tasteful and fun, the food more than acceptable and, as a newcomer, everyone I spoke to (without exception) was friendly and welcoming. It is a really good group and you and Arlene clearly work hard to maintain the events and the friendly atmosphere. The weekend was good value for money.
Very good weekend, enjoyed everything I attended. I will attend other weekends, the choice of hotel was super, could not fault them on cleanliness and attention to detail. The party on the Saturday evening was fantastic, everything was to hand, food was good.
I have to say i really enjoyed the whole week end, there was time to do my own thing and time to do stuff with others, a good mix of options. The Hotel was great (when i managed to get there ha ha ) and the Dinner was very enjoyable. Well done on putting a good week end together i thoroughly enjoyed myself, thank you very much.
