Behind the Scenes at the Crematorium and Lunch
Overview
Join us for this unusual and exclusive opportunity to see behind the scenes at the crematorium and to learn what is fact and what is fiction about funerals and cremations. The tour will start in the chapel (the public area of the crematorium, where you would go to attend a funeral) with a talk from the Crematorium Manager and the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about funerals in general or the cremation process, before we follow the journey that a coffin makes from the chapel into the crematory. There will be an opportunity to see the cremators themselves and understand how they work and to learn how the cremation process works to produce ashes (cremated remains).
After the tour we will visit a local pub for lunch when there will be a chance for more discussion or questions. In the past we have found there is usually a lot to talk about!
Your host, Chelsea, is an experienced Funeral Director and Funeral Celebrant and will be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have either in advance or on the day. She will be happy to speak to you on a one-to-one basis if you prefer.
This is a unique opportunity to satisfy your curiosity and bust some myths. The environment is professional and technological, there is nothing graphic or disturbing.
