Barrie's Walks - Soho on the Edges
Overview
From Tin Pan Alley To Fitzrovia
SOHO ON THE EDGES -
Music, murder & the birth of Bohemia
——————————————————————————
There are many walks around Soho including some of our own but there are areas on the outskirts of the ‘un square mile' that often get missed. This walk fills those gaps.... From the remarkable music history of Denmark Street, onto Soho square and then Oxford street. And that's just the first half. We then venture north to what estate agents are calling Noho but is of course much better known as Fitzrovia where bohemian London flourished from the early 1920s. You will also hear rare stories about The Beatles, an unsolved, an ancient Indian sect and the oldest music venue in the world. Also learn more about the Rockers than the Mods and finishing with a gruesome murder.
