Overview

Not sure what to do for the early May bank holiday? Why not spend it with us in Anglesey on a lovely weekend break? It will involve exploring some of the most stunning coastal views that Anglesey has to offer (so don’t forget your camera). This three night bank holiday trip will be a refreshing weekend break with guided walks and local visits. The island is such a beautiful area, full of places for us to visit. Castles, beaches, shopping… you name it!

The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path is a long distance walk that follows the picturesque coastline of the island. It’s full of striking natural beauty that’s ideal for walkers. As it is one of our guided walks, we will walk the highest point of Anglesey, Holyhead Mountain and have access to beautiful views of sea arches and cliffs.

Early Bird Price: Please note that the price for this weekend increases by £10 per person from 1st March 2023

Includes

3 Nights' accommodation in comfortable Spice exclusive hostel or your own tent/campervan, 2 packed lunches, 1 cooked breakfast, 1 breakfast with hot items and 1 Continental breakfast, 2 guided walks, buffet on Friday night, plus hot evening meals on Saturday and Sunday

Travel & Stay

On our trip to Anglesey, we will be staying at the 3 star Outdoor Alternative which has facilities designed for comfort all year round. The buildings are heated and well ventilated so our stay will be warm, fresh and relaxed.

There’s no need to worry about bedding since pillows, duvet & sheets are provided in the hostel but obviously if you choose the camping option, please bring your own. Toilet, shower and wash room facilities are either ensuite or adjacent to the bedrooms and for those camping there are plentiful onsite facilities. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis though we tend to hold rooms for 2 back fro couples. We only accept requests for bottom bunks for medical reasons and will do our best to assist but as most members would like a bottom bunk, we cannot guarantee them. The facilities provide space for parking although we are likely to be blocking each other in. If you are camping, provided the ground is in good condition, we can park our cars in front of our tents.

Getting There

Directions: From the new A55 dual carriageway across the Island leave at Junction 3, signposted Y Fali/Valley, A5; Follow signs for Y Fali/Valley, continue to the road junction traffic lights. Turn left for Trearddur (Bay) B4545. Continue for just over 1 mile, over the new road bridge, straight across the mini roundabout Take the left turn shortly after the bridge over the Inland Sea at Four Mile Bridge - signposted "Rhoscolyn" and "White Eagle" After 1.3 miles turn sharp left at the 'Silver Bay' sign. At about 1K/.6mile down this lane, look for a large white gate-post appearing in the middle of the road. Take the unmade track, to the right of the post; the gate says "Private road no cars" Follow this track 200m, Cerrigyr Adar / Outdoor Alternative is on the left, with large stone gateposts.

Covid/Infection Guidance: As a matter of respect to other members when attending events, we ask that you take the following guidance into account.  People with symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as COVID-19, and who have a high temperature or do not feel well, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with others. Those who are asked – or choose to test – and get a positive COVID-19 result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days following the day of their positive result. Normal Spice/Walkwise Terms & Conditions apply.

Travel Insurance: It is also recommended that when travelling on holiday or attending Spice weekends away in the UK or overseas that you have adequate travel insurance in case of emergency, cancellation, etc. Travel insurance is an important aspect to booking a weekend or holiday, giving you protection against unforeseen circumstances. We also strongly recommend a personal travel insurance policy that includes COVID-19 cover. While we cannot recommend specific insurance policies as everyone’s requirements are personal to them, Spice have linked up with market leader Staysure Travel Insurance which you may like to take a look at.
