Alison's Walk - River Tweed to Melrose
Overview
We start and end at Tweedbank station, with a walk around 8 miles in length with 518ft of ascent. The first part of the walk is along the River Tweed to Melrose. There are benches (and toilets) in Melrose where we can stop for lunch. We then follow the old railway track and a quiet farm road which eventually takes us through the Abbotsford estate then along the river back to Tweedbank station.

Meeting Point
Alison will be taking the 09.22 train from Waverley to Tweedbank, arriving 10:22. Anyone coming directly to Tweedbank should plan to arrive for 10:30 and meet us on the platform. The trains are every hours for the return journey. An off peak day return to Tweedbank costs £12.10.
