Saturday 16.10.21, 8.5 mile, Benfleet, 2012 Olympics Hadleigh Park, Southend linear walk with fireworks display.
Please meet at the exit of Benfleet railway station ready to depart at 10:00.
We will walk through Hadleigh Country Park, the home of the London 2012 Olympics mountain bike events and the birth place of the Salvation Army in the 1890's. We'll have our lunch (at your own expense) in their Hub Café.
After lunch we'll walk to Hadleigh Castle, 14th Century ruins and out to the River Thames which we will walk beside to Southend. We'll head for the Wetherspoons Pub for an 18:00 hrs meal (at your own expense) before choosing a place either on the beach or Southend pier to view the free, 19:30 hrs firework display over the water.
Please bring drinking water, a Covid-19 protective mask, money for a café lunch and pub evening meal plus any other drinks or snacks you may want.
Limited to 15 walkers plus Linda.
