This is a stunning 9 mile round trip with Trevor Hyde and has a total of 400m of climbing spread throughout the day. From Elmley Castle, after a couple of miles through gentle fields, we pass through Comberton churchyard then turn and climb steadily to gain the western end of Bredon Hill. There follows a 4km ridge walk with great views, stopping for lunch at Banbury Tower in the ancient earthworks of a fort from 300BC. We descend off the eastern end and turn back on ourselves to follow a bridleway to the second ancient fort of Elmley Castle.
We then descend back into the village to the Queen's Inn for refreshment.
The walk is expected to take about 4 hours.
