Remember, everyone who attends is in the same boat so don’t be nervous about attending, come on your own (lots of people do) or come with a friend - just come and see what you’ve been missing! You will soon be on your way to making new friends and meeting people - friendship is our game.
Our Preview Nights are a great way to make your start with Spice and the easiest way of meeting a few new people and finding out how it all works. We also run a FREE RAFFLE for all who attend (existing members too) with events as the prizes – just to add a touch of Spice to the evening.
The plan is to welcome everyone, talk through the basics of Spice, give you more info on the coming programme and an opportunity to book on events if you like. You can of course book in the usual ways (phone, web or post) - but remember the Spice motto – “You snooze, you lose – you rest, you rust!”
Jonathan and enthusiastic volunteers will be on hand to answer any queries you may have. Remember, everyone who attends is in the same boat so don’t be nervous about attending; come on your own (lots of people do) or come with a friend. Call us to book in advance or email or just turn up - either way, do come and see what you’ve been missing!
YORK (getting there)
There is no parking along Goodramgate so use one of the car parks just outside of the walled shopping centre. Monk Bar car park is nearest and costs £2 from 6pm onwards. Don't use Foss Bank Car Park as it is locked at 8pm.
LEEDS (getting there)
Parkside Tavern is the mock Tudor building on Merrion Street near its junction with New Briggate and alongside St John’s Gardens. (It was formerly Slate NQ, and before that Lounge Bar and Grill.) Indoor car parking is in the St John’s Centre car park on Merrion St. or the Citipark Car Park on Merrion Way is a little further away but cheaper.
SHEFFIELD (getting there)
The Old Queen's Head is on Pond Hill located between Sheffield Bus Station and Ponds Forge Sports Centre. If driving leave the Park Square roundabout by the exit signed Ibis, Travel Lodge and Ponds Forge. Drive past the hotels and under the bridge. There are a few on street parking places available on Pond Hill right outside the pub, and more on Pond Street.
