"What a great weekend we had with Graham on the New Forest cycle trip last weekend. Clearly he had put a lot of thought into everything from the hotel in Lyndhurst (very friendly and comfy, with good food) to our different stops for refreshments, and had chosen lovely rides each day. He is such a personable chap and already has a keen following (deservedley so) as a lot of the group had done the Cotswold trip with him." Pamela
Back by popular demand, we have linked up again with Graham Hills (who organises our day bike rides) for another cycling weekend in the New Forest. We will spend two days and nights in this historic National Park. We will cycle through unenclosed pasture land amongst the iconic miniature ponies and take in the forest, rivers and coastline on this varied and beautiful part of the country. This will be a great weekend to relax, indulge and have some fun!
Over the weekend we will be covering a reasonable distance on mainly flat forest gravel track and quiet country roads. The cycling is classed as moderate but you do need to be reasonably fit to take part and it is best if you have done some day rides before coming along. There will be about 3 hours cycling each day at a medium pace.
We will be staying at The Stag Hotel in the town of Lyndhurst, where we can cross the road and be straight into the New Forest. Why not take a stroll up the road to Lyndhurst Village, where you will find the New Forest Museum and Visitor Centre as well as a variety of shops. The restaurant serves dishes sourced from local produce wherever possible.
Full direction and joining instructions will be emailed out about 10 days before the weekend.
