Overview

Come and join Karen for another steady Sunday stroll followed by lunch. This time we will be walking along the Calder Valley Greenway joining it at Mirfield. This mainly traffic-free route is surprisingly rural passing through a pleasant wooded and agricultural landscape.

We will meet at Huddersfield train station and get the 10.52 train to Mirfield. Please meet on the platform at 10.45 and allow plenty of time to buy your ticket as the trains only run every hour so if you miss this train you will miss the walk. A one way ticket costs £2.60. The walk is 5.5 miles and as there are no cafes en route we would recommend that you take a drink with you.

A table is booked at Ephesus Turkish restaurant at 14.00 for a 2 course lunch. The address is 52 John William Street, Huddersfield

Muska Boregi - Golden filo pastry parcels filled with hot minced lamb and herbs.

Sucuk (Beef Pepperoni) -Grilled Turkish garlic pepperoni with mushroom,-onions and peppers.

Adana Skewer - Minced lamb with herbs, onions, parsley and a little cilli on a skewer, chargrilled.

Lamb Meatballs - Spicy lamb meat balls in a tomato sauce with Turkish herbs, carrots, potatos, aubergines and peppers.

Iskender Kebab - A very popular Turkish dish. Slices of lamb slice of bread, special butter Iskender sauce with garlic, natural yoghurt, parsley and Turkish herbs.

Chicken Sauté - Spiced chicken roasted in sauce with herbs, peppers and mushrooms.

Chicken Marmaris - Chicken breast cooked with a mushroom, grain mustard,garlic and cream sauce, served with fries.

Chicken Kavurma (Turkish Style Fajitas) - Marinated chicken with onions, mushrooms and fresh garlic, served with salad, cacik, mozzarella cheese and tortilla.

Mixed Kavurma (Turkish Style Fajitas) - Marinated chicken and lamb with onions, mushrooms and fresh garlic, served with salad, cacik, mozzarella cheese and tortilla.

Tagliatelle Seafood Pasta - Mixed selection of seafood including calamari, king prawns, mussels, salmon with garlic, basil and white wine sauce.

Mince Pide - Marinated minced lamb, onions, tomatos, peppers, parsley and Turkish herbs.

Sucuklu Pide - Sucuklu, free range eggs, cheddar cheese, Feta cheese and mozzarella cheese.
