CONTINUING OUR TRAVELS THIS MONTH WE VISIT LEBANON. THE NEXT IN OUR SPICE DINES ROUND THE WORLD SERIES.

If you already have them don't forget to bring your passports. If you're new to our world cuisines I'll have your passport with me. I can't believe how popular our meals have become with over 50 of you on the last ones so don't snooze & lose on the meals they are starting to sell out now. Tonight we visit Sheiks which is the only Lebanese and middle eastern restaurant for miles around. We have (providing our numbers are high enough) booked the whole restaurant exclusively for Spice. we will be in tables of 4 or 6 but as we have the whole restaurant we can wander round socialising & chatting anyway. We will have as selection of Lebanese starters for us all to share, a traditional special main course and dessert followed by tea or coffee. As always pay for your drinks separately.

Our starters are a selection of mezze which will be put out on each table for us all to share :-

Houmous - Chick pea puree, sesame seed oil and lemon juice served with pitta bread

Motabal - Grilled aubergine pureed with sesame seed oil and lemon juice and pitta bread

Felafel - Balls of crushed chick peas and herbs, deep fried and served with tahini suace, tomatoes and pitta bread

Taboulah Salad - Bulghar (cracked wheat), parsley, tomatoes, olive oils and lemon juice

Chicken wings - chicken wings marinated in lemon and garlic then chargrilled

Kubba - Bulghar balls stuffed with minced lamb, pine nuts and spices deep fried

Then we move onto our very special main course which is not normally offered on the menu. However, Tarik from Sheils will be preparing us a whole stuffed lamb. The whole lamb is stuffed with rice cinnamon, pine nuts and more pieces of finely shredded lamb and will be served with yoghurt and arabic salad, rice and yoghurt. For vegetarians we have vegetarian tabseh which is layers of aubergine, courgette, onion and tomatoes with special spices served on a bed of rice. We finish off with a selection of arabic desserts and tea or coffee.
