Stoke Ford and Abney Clough are great at any time of the year but are particularly pretty in spring. Combined with a traverse of 2breezy" Shatton Moor to Hathersage, this is a brilliant ramble. Participants on a recent ramble praised the food in the Little John inn in Hathersage and this will be our focus for lunchtime. Although there are many other options of cafes and pubs to be found in the village. The walk should burn off a few calories on the ascent cross Eyam moor back to the cars.

Directions: Follow the A625 towards Hathersage. Take the 2nd left at the Fox House inn (i.e not the left on the sharp bend opposite the pub but the next one signposted Grindleford). As you get to Grindleford turn onto the B6001 which goes steeply up past the village school and the William Hill pub. The next turn of on the left takes you even more steeply uphill on a lane that is eventually very long and straight. Park on the continuation rough track when it bends sharply to the left.
