Ramble Litton
Date: Sunday 5th
April
Place: Litton GR: 165 752
Time: 10.00am PROMPT
Cost: £5 Grade: 3 (Moderate) 8 miles
If the weather stays warm some early wild flowers and birds should be in evidence in Tanseydale and Cressbrookdale at this time of year. Bring your binoculars and wildflower books. We will traverse Longstone Morr descending to Great Longstone for a lunch break in one of the pubs. The second half of the walk is every bit as interesting as the morning and includes an ice cream stop at Monsal Head before the steady climb back up Cressbrookdale and across fields to Litton.
Directions: Take your best route to Calver and then take the A623 towards Eyam and Chapel en le Frith. The road climbs up through Middleton dale and continues onward through Wardlow Mires. Look for the left turn signed to Litton village. Take this and park with care in the village. Meet by the stocks.
