on this classic Spice weekend away!
 Lovely lodges situated in the deep forest surrounded by towering Scots pines,
beautiful surrounds, lakes, streams, forest paths leading to an unrivalled
choice of sports and leisure facilities, health and beauty treatments,
restaurants, cinema, cafes, bars…you name it - all just a short stroll or cycle
from your lodge!
The Lodges: Our ‘comfort’
standard lodges are situated in small clusters, and in order to keep Spice
members together we have had to block book a number of different types and
styles. All are all fully furnished, warm and very comfortable - all with twin
(or double for couples) beds. The standard lodge has fully equipped kitchen
includes microwave, fridge / freezer, telephone, satellite TV, bathroom, private
patio with outdoor furniture, and barbecue area. Bed linen is also provided.
Lodges hold 6 people, with differing locations and layouts - so there is an
element of potluck where you will be allocated. Please let us know at the time
of booking if you have rooming requests, we will do our best to accommodate
these, but cannot guarantee it.
Food is not
included but easily available from the supermarket on site, at the many bars and
restaurants, and on-site pub. Or you may wish to get together with your lodge
mates and organise to self cater a meal or two when the rooming list is
published with your joining pack! As usual with Spice Events - don’t hesitate
to book as an individual as we will find you a roommate and once you have met up
with your lodge - you’ll quickly be part of our one big happy family.
The Programme:
The Programme: This is our 26th visit to Center Parcs Whinfell Forest
(ex ‘Oasis’) and firmly established as a great value, weekend break
away. There is a Friday night exclusive Spice Welcome Drinks and late
Disco, and a public Disco from 10.30am until the early hours on Saturday
night (licensed til 1.00am). We have an exclusive Spa Deal and Spice
Quiz. There are also plenty of other opportunities to meet up with your
local group as the weekend progress e.g. Group Barbecue and Group Sports
Events, - details in your joining pack from your local Spice Group. We
will have a loose fancy dress theme for the Sat Night Disco, which sets
us Spicers apart from the normal people (!) on site – and this visit it
is ‘Red & Black’!
The indoor World of Water is the
focal point, situated on the side of the large lake where the watersports take
place (windsurfing, sailing and canoeing). The ultra modern, state of the art
Oasis World of Water offers an incredible swimming experience with heated pools
both inside and out, flume rides, wave machines, jacuzzis, wild water rapid
rides water cannons and much more! There are many, many sports facilities. Your
local Spice group will operate a Sports Link Up scheme to enable you to get
together to play Badminton, Squash, Tennis, etc., as well as the group sports we
will organise.
You may arrive Friday 3.00pm,
although most people usually arrive late evening. Lodges must be vacated by
10.00am Monday morning at the latest, however in practice many members return
home late Sunday. Another big plus at Whinfell is that we can all have a key to
the lodg e – handed to you on arrival at the drive through check in.
We have limited slots this visit to
250, first come as usual. We can’t allow pets in
with shared villas. Full Info
pack goes out to all participants 1 week prior. Balances due 1st
March, after which no refund for cancellation (lodge still has to be paid for) -
unless we or you can resell your slot. As usual - we will send out a Transport
